So you’re ready to try online video conferencing for the first time? Perfect! It’s easier than you think, please follow these steps and you’ll be live online in no time at all…

First, create a Zoom account:

1. Go to www.zoom.us
2. Click “SIGN UP, IT’S FREE” in top right hand corner
3. Enter your email address
4. Confirm email preferences to receive updates from Zoom (once a week, only once a month or unsubscribe me entirely)
5. A confirmation link will have been sent to your email account – check your junk folder if you cannot see an email from Zoom
6. Open email and click “Activate Account”
7. Welcome to Zoom page should automatically open in your web browser. If it does not, copy and paste the link contained in the Zoom email
8. Fill in the details on the Welcome to Zoom page
9. Skip inviting colleagues to create Zoom Accounts – Click skip this step
10. In “start your test meeting” screen, click “Start Meeting Now”
11. New tab will open with message box. Click “Open Zoom” in message box
12. Zoom will open in new window
13. click “Join with Computer Audio”
14. Complete the Speak and Microphone test to ensure all working
15. Close application and click “End Meeting for All” when prompted
16. You’re all done – close it down until you’re ready to join our Zoom meeting!

To join a Zoom meeting:

On desktop/laptop

1. Click the link to the Zoom meeting we sent you by email (or shared with you online)
2. Browser will open with dialogue box. Click “Open Zoom”
3. Zoom application will open
4. Click “Join with Computer Audio” in open application
5. You’re in!

Phone App

1. Download the free Zoom app from the App Store or Google Play
2. Open Zoom app
3. Select Join a meeting
4. Input meeting ID
5. Select Join Meeting
6. You’re in!
